The Civil Service Pension (CSP) arrangements are made up of a number of different schemes, including some where the member contributes to their own investment fund.

As a general rule, the majority of your employees will be eligible to join the Civil Service Pension (CSP) arrangements.

Your responsibilities when staff leave before pension age

Staff may leave the Civil Service before their scheme pension age and receive pension and/or compensation payments under the Civil Service Pension (CSP) arrangements.

Your responsibilities when staff leave at or after pension age

The scheme pension age for nuvos members is currently 65. For classic, classic plus and premium members, it is currently 60. In alpha, a members’ Normal Pension Age (NPA) is the later of their State Pension Age (SPA) or age 65.

Compendia, payroll and data responsibilities

Compendia is the pension administration software used by the Scheme Administrator (MyCSP) to administer the Civil Service Pensions (CSP) arrangements.

Section 9

Disputes, appeals and complaints

Sections 50, 50A and 50B of the Pensions Act 1995 (as inserted by the Pensions Act 2004) and the Occupational Pension Schemes (Internal Dispute Resolution Procedures Consequential and Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2008 set out the framework within which occupational schemes must investigate pension complaints.
